I just moved out of my parents' house where they had digital cable and HDTV and all that fancy stuff so I don't really know what I am doing. Now, I don't want to pay for cable but I still want to watch the news and programs on network channels (NBC, ABC, etc.) Do I need to purchase one of those converter boxes to make my TV work or is there something else I might be doing wrong? Right now, I just get a bright blue screen. All I did was plug in the TV to the wall, no cable cord or anything. Is the cable cord only needed if you have cable channels or do I need one anyway?
